Falling off a window ledge

GAINSBOROUGH.

GAINSBOROUGH. – On Thursday afternoon week Miss Sharrott [Mary (Sharrott) Stokes], daughter of Mr. Sharrott [Charles Sharrott (1797-1852)], whitesmith, was cleaning the bed-room window, and was standing on the window ledge for that purpose, when she lost her hold, and fell into the yard. Her aerial excursion was of no great length, and she had the good fortune (cat like) to fall on her feet, and received little injury, beyond being stunned by the fall.
