Finding an abandoned newborn

STRANGE DISCOVERY AT RILLINGTON. – On Saturday morning the body of a newly-born child was found in the mouth of a culvert on the side of the Scarborough road, at West Field, Rillington. It was discovered by George Dunn, a labourer, and whilst he and others were looking at it, Mr. Dodd, surgeon, of Rillington, came up and took possession of the body. The Coroner has been communicated with.
