I Edward Lingard of No 9 Court Snowhill Birmingham Brass Castor do make my last will and testament as follows that is to say

I do hereby give & bequeath unto my Mother Ellen Lingard [Ellen (Boole) Lingard] whatever sum of money that is now in the Saving Bank at Birmingham belonging to me, for her own use and benefit, and I do hereby appoint the said Ellen Lingard sole executrix of this my last will

As witness my hand this third day of May one thousand eight hundred and forty six.

In the Bishop Court of Lichfield

In the goods of Edward Lingard Deceased

Appeared personally Ellen Lingard of Snow Hill Birmingham in the County of Warwick Widow sole Executrix named in the last Will and Testament of the said Edward Lingard late of Birmingham in the County of Warwick Brass Caster Deceased; who died on or about the Fourth day of May One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty Six and made Oath, that the Estate and Effects of the said Deceased, for, or in respect of which, a Probat of the said Will is to be granted, exclusive of what the said Deceased may have been possessed of, or entitled to, as a Trustee for any other person or persons, and not beneficially, but includng the Leasehold Estate or Estates for years of the Deceased if any, whether absolute or determinable on Lives, and without deducting any thing on account of the Debts, due and owing from the said Deceased, are under the value of Twenty Pounds, to be best of this Deponent’s knowledge, information and belief.

On which day Chinn exhibited as Proctor made himself party for Ellen Lingard Widow and alleged that Edward Lingard late of Birmingham in the County of Warwick and Archdeaconry of Coventry Brass Castor deceased duly made and executed his last Will and Testament in writing and thereof appointed Ellen Lingard Widow sole Executrix

Wherefore he prayed Probate of the said Will to be committed and granted to his said party and also a Commission to issue for administering to her the usual Oath of Executrix directed to Rann Kennedy and Clerks jointly and severally

Let Commission and Probate pass as prayed
