Local Obituary

Mr. A. E. Cooke, Cheltenham.

With great regret do we record the death of Mr. Albert Edward Cooke, second son of Mr. James Cooke, retired market gardener, of Shaftesbury, Gloucester-road. Deceased was an old Parish Church School boy, and after serving at Cavendish House, proceeded to Wallen Bros., London. From there he went to Messrs. Chas. Jenner and Co., Prince’s-street, Edinburgh, where he had been for the past 28 years. He was held in high esteem in Edinburgh, particularly in golfing circles, where he gained many trophies. He was a member of the Cheltenham Conservative Club, and was in his 53rd year.
