Demise of Thomas Smart Sr., the Founder of Franklin.

Franklin, Oneida Co., Idaho, April 18. – Thomas Smart Sr. of this place, father of President William H. Smart, of Wasatch Stake, passed away today at 7:40 a. m. He was in his 77th year. He founded the settlement of Franklin under the direction of Peter Maughan in 1860.
Funeral services will be held at this place Sunday, April 21st, commencing at 2 p. m.
